Yetunde Odugbesan-Omede, Ph.D., is a Professor of Global Affairs and Politics in the department of History, Politics and Geography at Farmingdale State College where she teaches Comparative Politics, Women in Comparative Political Development, Imperialism, Global Politics, African Politics, and Introduction to Politics.  Dr. Yetunde's area of research expertise is in corruption studies, global ethics .and good governance. She is also newly appointed to Universities in Exile Consortium where she represents Farmingdale State College, the consortium publicly defends academic freedom, the core value of all their member institutions, and nurtures academics who have been persecuted and uprooted by creating a sense of intellectual community among exiled scholars. She is a member of numerous academic and professional associations. She serves on the National Coalition of 100 Black Women LI Chapter on the  Public Policy, Education and Women and Girls committee.

 

Dr. Yetunde's interest in global ethics, good governance, human rights, gender equality, and counter-corruption studies has influenced her academic endeavors and profession. Dr. Yetunde received her Doctorate of Philosophy in Global Affairs from Rutgers University and her Masters of Science in Global Affairs with a concentration in International Law from Rutgers University. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Media Studies with a double minor in Africana Studies and Organizational Leadership from Rutgers University as well. She has certificates in international relations, international business, applied political leadership. She was a New Leaders Council Fellow, Rutgers Emerging Leaders Scholar, Ronald E. McNair Scholar, Minority Academic Careers Fellow, Eagleton Institute of Politics Fellow and graduate of the United Nations Worldview Institute. She has worked with many reputable institutions and government agencies such as United Nations Population Fund, New Jersey State Ethics Commission and Rutgers Institute of Anti-Corruption Studies to name a few. Dr. Yetunde has met with many heads of states and continues to work on government initiatives that promote ethics, education, and the protection of civil liberties.

 

Dr. Yetunde is a multi-faceted leader. Dr. Yetunde is also the CEO of Yetunde Global Consulting. YG Consulting is a management consulting firm specializing in leadership development and human capital management. She is also the Founder of Young Woman's Guide, an organization that provides leadership development and training to young women from all backgrounds. Dr. Yetunde is a contributor for the Guardian Newspaper where she writes articles in the Law, Politics and Leadership sections of The Guardian Newspaper. She also has her own column with the Guardian Newspaper titled Young Woman's Guide where writes topics on women empowerment and life skills. Dr. Yetunde is the author of the book, Young Woman's Guide, and latest book Balance: which provides personal and leadership advice for young women from all backgrounds.
