Kavachi is a global ambassador for good food and stronger cultural connections. As the founder of Grubido, Kavachi fuses her training in the culinary arts, marketing, and hospitality management to host enriching in-person experiences crafted to expand guests’ culinary horizons.
In 2013, Kavachi launched Grubido, a first-of-its-kind movement to take international culinary concepts to the mainstream. A far cry from a traditional restaurant group, Grubido is a movement, a rallying cry for food lovers to expand their palates. Grubido allows patrons to discover global cuisine through local food tasting events, interactive web content, and more.
Additionally, Grubido has several restaurant concepts. Global Chops, the United Fork Podcast, and The Art of Fufu create awareness through ongoing series of interactive events designed to elevate international home cooking into the culinary upper echelon.
Kavachi has become a spokesperson to push the narrative for more West African culinary presence in mainstream media to support cultural understanding. Due to her efforts, Grubido has been featured on Great Day Houston, Fox 26 News, the Houston Press, Houston Life, the Houston Cookbook, the University of Houston Celebrity Chef series, No Passport Required powered by Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), and continues to grow in Houston and beyond.
